The Purpose Of This Sight:

This website is intended to be a diverse resource for better understanding the birds of Arizona. Specific focuses include identification conundrums, newly discovered range-expansions, coordinating the surveys to find those range expansions, and research on the poorly understood phenomenon of both diurnal and nocturnal migration across the state. If you are as thirst for knowledge as I do, kick back your seat and dive in!

About The Author

Caleb is an Arizona native, born and raised on the west side of Phoenix. He began birding early in middle-school and has dedicated a majority of his time studying and observing birds and the many spectacles they provide in behavior, identification challenges, and migratory patterns. After graduating highschool, Caleb began traveling across the United States and Northern Mexico, broadening his knowledge and into his 20s he began working doing Biology work in the Midwest before settling down in Tucson where he now guides with Arizona Birding Tours. His recent interests have been exploring underbirded locations in search of range expansions, finding unknown migratory “highways”, surveying for nocturnal flight calls (NFCs), and broadening the current knowledge in the identification of poorly understood species and subspecies.
